true, it's supposed to go down to single digits tonight. (Brrrrrr!) But as recently as last week, it was sunny and in the 50's. Global warming, I say!
I know of "The for Better or For Worse" comic, but I definitely have no idea what you guys are talking about! I only read "Get Fuzzy", and it's not very often.
So cool to see other ppl involved in NaNoWriMo! I read the "No Plot? No Problem!" book awhile ago, but I guess I'm not very disciplined.
The person below me has already abandoned their new year's resolution. |

Actually, no I haven't. My goal is to try and lose another 5 pounds by spring. I'm keeping to what I was eating at the end of last year when I dropped 5 pounds in two months. I have a hard time losing weight.
Our weather is crazy. It was nearly 70 on Monday and look what happened today!! (That's from my cell phone. Not a bad picture.) I think it's not global warming, but our calendar. We're just off by a month now.
LadyWhitehart, I'd LOVE to do a Valentine's fic exchange!
FBoFW: I swear, if she ends up with Anthony and an automatic family, I will be so upset with Lyn!
The person below me has a great idea for a fic, but is afraid to write it because of how people might react. |

False, though I am posting on the For Better or For Worse disaster review site:
http://community.livejournal.com/binky_betsy/
And I'm on a couple of Friends lists, but that doesn't count a "community", does it?
Lynn has taken Liz and regressed her into a flat two-dimensional cartoon character (she used to be a three-dimensional one!), preparing her for her upcoming marriage to Granthony. However, others have pointed out that Lynn married a pilot, so there is hope for Warren after all, and that Liz will wake up and get out of her parents' house and get a life of her own. Now the question is, what becomes of the cat? (I snuck a peek while Monday's strip was still available.)
It's up to 17 degrees F now; absolutely balmy after the zero temps lately. And we still have some snow on the ground, and wild weather swings are still in the forcast. Nice house there, jynx67.
I only write Conservative and Suggestive, though I do have two stories coming up that might be considered Brazen. (I'm kinda nervous about publishing them, but they are part of the story line, but I don't know how my kids or friends will react to them, IF they read them...) I have enough experiences and pain in my life, that I don't want to read or write anything beyond Brazen.

False, though I'd like to someday.
I belong to a few LiveJournal communities, mostly connected with bagpipes. My favourite one, LadyPipers, has unfortunately been very quiet lately.
And since I'm already working on making several aspects of my life better, I didn't make any new year's resolutions this year. For various reasons I've given up on making the resolution to lose weight, and I've actually felt much healthier since doing so. Somewhat ironically, I've also slimmed down a bit, though I'll always be what might be politely referred to as "plus sized".
Regarding FBoFW, I agree about the flattening of Elizabeth's character. She used to be so interesting (I loved the strips that actually took place in the classroom in Mtigwaki), but lately she has no real spark to her. I wouldn't be surprised if Lynn takes the easy way out and sticks her with Anthony; there were so many jackhammer-subtle hints about that during and after her wait to testify at Howard's trial. Now that Paul's character has been irreparably assassinated (gotta love today's implied "Get out of my life, you lying, cheating piece of scum!") I wouldn't be surprised if Warren did something stupid so that Liz wouldn't want to see him again, either—thus sending her straight into the arms of her somewhat creepily obsessed ex-boyfriend, who has become a rather one-dimensional parody of his former self.
Come to think of it, most of the characters have become rather flat—but that's a rant for another place.
The person below me sometimes likes to read the chapters of a book or fic out-of-sequence. |

False. I like to read them in order from the beginning to the end. Hence my problem with WIPs... But I may skip chapters if I'm rereading a story I liked, because there may be something in that fic I don't care that much about.
In a book, I may be tempted to read part of the last chapter or the last page to see how it ends, but I refuse to fall into temptation because I know I won't be happy about that later.
Yes I flown in a helicopter once. At Iguazu Falls. When it was allowed to fly in helicopters in that area. I like it, but too much noise.
I belong to several LJ communities. Some about fics updates, fic exchanges, ship communities, writing communities, etc.
I don't fear much about people's reactions when I write. I didn't wrote anything more than suggestive yet, but it's only because I'm not that good at writing yet and there's nothing worst than bad written smut. I write Lucius/Hermione, if I feared people's reactions I wouldn't post it.
No New Years Resolutions for me... that way I don't abandon them.
As for the weather, I'm melting here.
Calendar: I printed mine in December. But I need a new one for the house and I'm yet waiting because I know that after the 15th of January they put them on sale.
Holiday decorations: Already packed and stored. I did it last weekend, mind you.
Quote: The person below me saw who Sirius will be fighting in the final battle in the OotP movie.
No, but I've read somewhere Jason Issacs saying he enjoyed playing wand duels with Gary Oldman.
Quote: The person below me has been following the Lizardbreath train wreck in the comic strip "For Better or For Worse".
No idea what are you talking about.
I think that's all, if I missed something and you want to know the answer, just ask...
Oh, and the forum have been acting up and I couldn't log in in several days, so if I don't show up here often that's probably the cause.
The person below me has a clean and organised house. (I'm trying to do it, but it seems as I'd never finish...) |

False. If wishes were horses, beggars would ride. I wish I may I wish I might... Nope, house still messy, back to the computer.
Here's a crapfic I wrote re. "For Better or for Worse". I guess I should've used my pen name instead an extra LJ name, but I wasn't thinking. Then again, do I really want to be known in the FOOB universe?
http://babsbybend3.livejournal.com/639.html
For a couple of years, helicopter rides were offered at county fairs. I took one over my small town and saw I lot of area that I didn't know existed.
And before that, one when I was working at the visitor center of Mt.St. Helens, and we flew into the crater and the pilot dive-bombed some fishermen who were on a lake outside of the blast zone (he was a Viet Nam vet, and was unfortunately fired of the lake joke.)
My new year's resolution was to clean-up the house, loose weight, and there was more...

Hmmm, I think I'd have to say false. Traffic and such isn't odd.
My house is nowhere near neat. I know where everything is for the most part.
I live in the middle of North Carolina and that wasn't my house. It's the building for the city's house builders association.
Never ridden in a helicopter.
I am on a couple of lj communities, none of which are HP... well, except for Perfect Imagination's. Though I only have one livejournal account. I was going to make a community with some friends, but things went sour.
The person below me is totally and completely fed up with all the spammers on this board lately and wish someone could do something about it. |

True! I can stay a whole day without drinking when I'm in the office.
And this happens because I literally glue to the chair in front of my computer.
Well, hi to everybody. I come and go, and it's a pleasure to see that somebody is going on with more questions and answers and info. As I said some answers ago, this is the only "living" part of the Forum, but OK, evidently it must be like this now. Sorry, I believe that I'm translating directly from Italian, please be patient.
I have enjoyed the previous messages. I see that we all have the same kind of problems. The house cleaning? Do you know the words of that children' song, "I close my eyes and make it disappear?" That's what I would like to do! I live in a perpetual mess of books, videos, toys, action figures, papers, pencils and more. As jynx67 knows by now, my house is also a cartoon studio... but this means that I have a lot of facilities at home, like a photocopier and many other useful devices.
I too am always late. But I've developed an incredible quantity of very creative lies...
And finally, I would like to affectionately congratulate Overhill for stating "I only write Conservative and Suggestive, though I do have two stories coming up that might be considered Brazen. (I'm kinda nervous about publishing them, but they are part of the story line, but I don't know how my kids or friends will react to them, IF they read them...) I have enough experiences and pain in my life, that I don't want to read or write anything beyond Brazen."
Hooray! I completely agree with you! Excuse my enthusiasm, but I was beginning to think to be the only one to have these feelings.
Thank you so much for sharing them!!!
The person below me would do whatever to avoid to quarrel with a friend.
(I don't know if I said it correctly, but I imagine you can imagine what I mean... Anyway, I would do whatever. I hate quarreling, except with my relatives, especially husband and daughters) |

False. That doesn't mean that I actively look for ways to start a quarrel, but I won't avoid a confrontation if I think that it has to happen.
I figure that as long as I feel good and I'm not thirsty I've had enough water, so by my own standards I suppose I'm getting enough. The people who say that you have to have at least 8 glasses of water per day would definitely disagree with me, though.
Who was it that wrote the "Avada Kedavra spammer" 6-word story? That pretty much sums up my level of frustration with the amount of spam we've been getting lately. May all spammers' computers be fried in a lightning storm.
I'm not often late as a result of strange circumstances, but it's been known to happen. Last time, it was because I was held up by the same train at three different railway crossings. (It had to be the same one; I recognized some of the graffiti on the boxcars the second and third times I had to stop.)
Clean and organized house? Well, mostly. There's cat hair all over the place, though. With three cats around the place it's very difficult to keep up with it—especially since two of them are long-hairs and the third runs around a lot.
Finally, I've only got one LiveJournal account. Sometimes I pay more attention to it than I do at other times, but I usually write something there at least once a month.
The person below me likes the winter for some reason or other. |

Sort of.
I like the fact that it's a change of pace, and the snow looks pretty. Having said that, I don't like the cold, the heating bills, the mud, the ice, the dangers of driving (every year, I narrowly escape a collision), and the cabin fever, as I don't feel safe walking along the street for exercise (no sidewalks in this neighborhood.)
I stay out of quarrels. I work as a cashier, and some people think it's their right to try to pick one with me. I also stay of of family quarrels, as I learned ages ago that you can't take back something you said. (I remember a Jewish saying: "A bruise heals, but a wrong word festers.")
I wrote the "Avada Kedavra Spammers" - the only six word story I recall coming up with. Just reported another one before I came here.
Thank you for your kind words, memory. What does your signature translate to in English? My understanding of foreign languages is non-existent.
I am almost always three minutes late when I clock on at work.
At the cartoon strip, For Better or For Worse, I'm betting on "for worse", and agree that Anthony is going to do his proposal on Feb. 14, which is an excellent reason to stay away from chocolates that day: They don't taste so good when they're barfed up.
The person below me has already decorated her house for Valentine's Day - including candy in the candy dishes. |

True. I'm not very good at it, but it's always fun.
I am resolutely ignoring FBoFW on Valentine's Day just for that reason alone. Instead of doing the sane and sensible thing, LJ is probably going to just force Elizabeth to say a very squee-like "Yes!!!!!!!!" and put her into a brainless domesticity with Anthony and his ready-made family. Not that I have anything against marriage, mind you, but the Liz/Anthony pairing kind of makes me sick.
The person below me has been receiving some very strange spam lately. (In the past three days I've gotten 4 messages with ads for viagra, etc. which end in fragments of a very badly spelled Harry Potter fanfic involving Harry and Moody.) |
