I find December stressful, so I guess that includes Christmas.
Sorry I wasn't here for a while. I was a bit to busy to have time to come to the forums. Let's see what I miss answering...
I usually watch the telly while on the computer. Or more accurate, I have the telly on, it doesn't mean that I'm watching it.
In here we don't hang lights in our houses... maybe in the suburbs, I don't know... I live in a flat in a very populated area so unless you count some crazy people hanging lights in a balcony or sticking them on the windows, there's no light displays to look at.
I love candles. I make candles. They are usually the only thing I give as holiday gifts.
I hate the holiday shows on the telly.They are boring, they are the same every year... and not to mention you are force fed those awful movies. *shudders*
Gift bags! They are great. Wrapping square gifts is easy and I enjoy doing it, but when you are trying to wrap candles you end up with a mess of wrinkled paper (well, I do).
I not only saw the full moon, I howled at it. 
Christmas tree is still non existent. I have to buy one soon. And it's tradition to put it up on the 8th anyway.
I don't remember "re-gifting" anything. But I may have done it. Actually, I'm almost sure that I have done it at least once... I just don't remember it.
I don't own any humorous Christmas item. 
I think that's all.

Strangely enough, it's true. I think it's mostly because of the way my blouses smell after they've been freshly washed, dried and ironed.
(By the way, MaddyRiddle, good to see you around again; I'd wondered where you were.)
I rarely watch TV while I'm on the computer, but then, I don't watch much television anyway (except for movies). If I do happen to be on the computer while I'm watching a movie or something, it's either because I'm playing the movie on my computer or I'm looking something up.
Christmas isn't terribly stressful for me except for a few hours on Christmas Day. As I think I've said before, I'm mildly claustrophobic and to have most of the members of my family on my Dad's side all gathered together in one relatively small place (no pun intended, of course  ) is somewhat panic-inducing.
The person below me has started some of their Christmas baking. (I have...mmm, spekelaus. )

Back again for a very quick chat. This time of the year is stuffed with so many things I barely have the time to survive. But I saw that you were going on sharing "Christmas emotions" and I couldn't resist. I love this period!
So, to answer the question, I'm not baking anything. Maybe in the next days? I'm helping my mum to clean up her new home. At the tender age of 80, she has decided to go live alone!!! She never stops to surprise me.
We still haven't prepared the tree, but I'm preparing the room that should host it. My house is a mess of books, papers, DVDs and a ton of other creative materials my husband has distributed in every corner during many many years of work. (Sometimes I say that we are sacred to the Pencil God, the divinity of cartoonists, and the house is his temple).
Rome is scintillating right now with so many beautiful decorations. The shops in the center are simply fabulous and, if you like fashion, you can't imagine the wonders they are offering. I'm not going to buy too much, just presents for the daughters and little things for the rest of the family, but walking in the streets in these days is a joy. (Let's pretend that is real happiness what we see...)

Pennfana: I have wanted to ask you since a long time: which musical instrument do you exactly play?
And I too simply adore Wonga's avatar. You know, sometimes I would like to ask the other fellows in the Forum: how did you choose your pen name? Some are easy to guess, but others are intriguing and make me wonder.

Okay... I have to admit I looked up the word, however I knew what it meant, but wasn't sure (and I do know how to pronounce it correctly). My mother-in-law has one under her tree that has been around since before my husband was born. It's probably over 40 years old. We have a very old ivory one that was given to my husband when he was young. (his family is Methodist)
I would love to see Rome at Christmas. I'm sure it is so beautiful. I love architecture (a love I got from my father), and Rome and Venice are two cities I really want to visit. Of course, being a musician, I want to visit Vienna, too.
You know, perhaps we should start a thread asking how people came up with their user names.

Somewhere in between true and false. While I also do the usual family visiting, house/tree decorating, gift-giving and all that (though not on as large a scale as I've seen other people do), I usually spend the evening on Christmas day visiting with a friend and his family—we have what you might call a second-generation friendship, as our mothers have been friends for over 30 years and that's actually how we met. Furthermore, I usually spend part of the evening on the day of the Solstice in meditation outdoors; it's my way of calming down in the middle of a time that's usually pretty stressful for me.
Memory: I've played the violin for about 15 years, sung soprano in various choirs for 11 years and I've played the Great Highland Bagpipe for just over eight years. Naturally, my house is a very noisy place, especially when my brother comes home from university—he plays the bagpipes too, plus the piano and various percussion instruments.

False, I think. No one told me what I'm going to get for Christmas, but I don't think they'll give me socks.
Don't know about celebrating traditionally. And even the traditions of my family won't be follow now, so maybe I need new traditions.

Didn't search the word... but it's what we call "pesebre" I guess. No idea what the English word for it is anyway.
I don't bake anything, much less for Christmas. I hate cooking. If I can I keep away from the kitchen as much as possible. I'm in charge of Christmas decorations instead.
It would be interesting to know the reason for some usernames. Mine makes for a dull explanation at best. But if you want to know and promise not to yawn too much I can tell you.

True I bought myself a nice-ish pair of earrings. They will be wrapped and under the tree... just in case hubby forgets to get me something this year. 
I love wonga's avatar; it's cute. Psst... she recently posted her first story; be sure to check it out.
I love candles. My one aunt will send us all socks. The tree is up. The baking has begun. And we checked out the house in town that is really into the Christmas spirit.

Very very true. And then I have to try to remember what I came up with long enough to get to a computer or a piece of paper!
I submitted my holiday gen fic piece this week, and got off my butt and found myself a beta for a longer fic I've been working on. Of course, I also have a final paper for my class that I should have been working on.....
The person below me tends to write out-of-order, as scenes or parts of scenes jump into their head, and then has to go back and connect things later. |

Nay, I do not. I'm the type that just sits down and writes. I have an idea of where I want to go and try my best to head there without getting trapped in a corner. One-shots are so much easier than chaptered stories...
I posted the last chapter of my very first HP story this week.  Wow. It took forever to get up on here, but I felt it was worth it. Now to work on the sequel more. Thankfully NaNoWriMo sparked my writing again. I've had a block for at least six to eight months where I have written very little. Now I'm being fairly prolific!
I've never written a drabble. Honestly, I have no clue as to what one is.
My muses bother me at odd times. Sirius likes to get me in the shower. Remus prefers right at bedtime. You can tell who's the perv.

True. I have a very conflicted relationship with my muse.
jynx67, drabbles are little stories that are too short to call one-shots. Usually they are more a scene than a whole story, but you can have a feeling of the whole anyway.
There are several communities in LJ that have authors writing 100 word drabbles. I can't constrict myself that much, so my drabbles are around 500 words.
Sirius in the shower and Remus in bed? I like it. My muse used to jump me demanding attention when I was in class at uni.

True. I'd feed them, but I appear to have forgotten how...
Sounds like you have a lot of fun with your inspirations, jynx.
When I'm able to write, I usually do work out-of-sequence; that's why I only ever post work that's been completed. I'm too fond of going back to tweak a detail or add an extra scene (or delete one that I decided didn't work in the overall frame of the story). This means that there are several chaptered works on my hard drive that may not ever see the light of cyberspace, but at least when I do post something I know that it's finished and if it requires updates, I know I'll be able to do that somewhat reliably and without having to tweak the bits I've already posted. And if it doesn't—well, I have had fun trying to connect various little scenes; that's how most of my one Lupin fic happened. 
I suppose I may have bought myself a Christmas present, though in fact it was purchased slightly over two weeks ago. I've got some folding fans on order and I don't expect them to be here until sometime later this week, or possibly even next week since this is a busier time than normal for snail mail.

My Grandmother's birthday was on Christmas Day. I think of her a lot. I was fortunate to spend time with her when I was between college times...
And the kids are home from school, so it's a celebration of nagging, sort of like Festivus (from the television show "Seinfeld")
I'll be working during the week for the most part, and my oldest will be home from college, so she and her sisters will have 36 hours of "aw gee" and then from there, I don't know what they'll be doing. We still don't have a tree; maybe they'll go get one!

False. My family tend to avoid each other. Usually I just have to pick a parent and then see what they do. I'm with my father this year and I believe he's having some friends come to stay but we'll see!
Thanks for the compliments on my av. I was randomly googling things (as you do!) and found it. I have no idea what it's about or where it's from I just thought it was cute. *Wanders off to start a topic about avs and names...*
Last year I bought myself a present (The Silmarillion.) I got into trouble for that because I snuck into a bookshop when they were not looking!
