*eyes shift around room*

Are you spying on me?! I'm sick, so I'm drinking orange juice and eating ramen. Yum.

False. I've actually never heard of it. Lol.

I almost never get to bed before two a.m. Last night I actually fell asleep around eight p.m. (*gasp!!*) but I was up again at two. I don't sleep well when it's dark out. I do much better sleeping during the day, which sucks, since I start work at 8:30 and have to be up around seven-ish.

I wear contacts, and glasses when my allergies get too bad to have bits of plastic sitting on my eye. I hate how I look in glasses, they make me look about fourteen. It doesn't help that I already look like a teenage boy most of the time. I really don't need to wear anything that makes me look even younger. Maybe if I let my hair grow back I would look older? Smile

The person below me is addicted to buying seasons of their favorite tv show(s) on DVD.

Sort of. Just got season five of Smallville. Anyone knows why there are no English subtitles on it? The other four have them.

I would like to have all of ST:Voyager and maybe some of the other STs. There are some things on PBS that I watched with my kids when they were younger, like Square One and Zooble Lee Zoo (sp?) and Bananas in Pajamas. Guess not watching television while we were building the house really broke the habit.

Now I'm going to look up Idylls of the King!

The person below me has read Dragonflight and/or The Ship Who Sang.

No, but they sound interesting!

Idylls of the King is poetry about King Arthur by Alfred, Lord Tennyson. It's really quite beautiful, if you can stand to read poetry for about 300 pages.

The person below me wants to see a play on Broadway (or in London or their equivalant)

True. We have several wonderful theatre groups where I live, but I've always wanted to see a musical like "Evita" or "Carousel" in their full glory on a magnificent stage. (The best we've got here is the "Community Theatre Centre" which is really the auditorium at one of our high schools. It went under some renovations a couple of years ago, but the stage is still pretty small and the room still doesn't conduct sound very well.) I'd especially like to head down to Stratford, Ontario someday to catch one of Shakespeare's plays during the festival.

I'm actually the only person in my immediate family who doesn't need to wear glasses or contacts. I'll probably have to eventually, but for now it's not necessary.

The person below me is familiar with the work of John Donne.

True! My undergrad paper on him won me a scholarship for grad school.

I have really been out of the loop here lately. Let's see....

I do wear glasses, and have since I was a child. I can see maybe a foot in front of me without them. And, alas, I'm even heading for bifocals. I've always preferred to take my glasses off to read, and in the past year, I've discovered that I *have* to take them off to read. *sighs*

I've read Dragonflight (and many other books by Anne McCaffrey), but not The Ship Who Sang.

The person below me prefers one kind of apple above all others (my favorite is Pink Lady).

True, if it's just for eating--Romas--otherwise, my apple of choice depends on the use.

Yup, I wear both glasses and contact lenses. Needing to take your glasses off so that you can see to read is a sign that you may need to make the switch to bifocals, especially if you're 40 or older. Don't feel too badly I'm already wearing a multifocal lens, and I'm not 40... yet.

I've never been to see a play on Broadway even though I now live close to NYC. (Waves across the river to velvet mouse and owlbait) But I've seen Tommy in Philadelphia, A Chorus Line, Jesus Christ Superstar, Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserable when the traveling companies came to Penn State University.

The person below me can't eat fried foods.

*sigh* False.

Porked out on fried onion rings this summer, dipped in fry sauce (mix of ketchup and mayo). I'd be ten pounds lighter and at least twenty dollars richer if I had kept on driving... And then there's the fried chicken strips/wings for lunch, and the occassional "poppers", cream cheese and jalpeno peppers, breaded and deep fried....

*stops to clean off bi-focals, which seemed to have suddenly developed grease smears on them.*

But, hey! I did take a one-mile walk today (Sunday) to burn a few calories!

The person below me also took a walk for exercise.

False. I spend a fortune on gym membership, and now only walk on a treadmill!

Oooh... Onion rings!

The person below me has had an "experience" whilst drinking tequila.

*Frowns fiercely* We will not discuss that. Seriously though, I never knew how sweet lemons were until I drank tequila!

I have 30/50 vision but glasses don't help so I don't need them.

I prefer pink lady and I can eat fried food, I just don't eat it that often.

The person below me is a reformed smoker. (I am, I just have to convince everyone around me to give up now.)

True. Embarassed I smoked in high school and my first year of college, but have since quit. Mostly because smoking around turpentine and varnish etc etc is NOT a good idea. I do feel much better for it though, and I walk on the treadmill. I've also mostly managed to give up fried food. Smile

What horrible eyesight we all have! I also wear glasses, but I can't touch my eyes, so no contacts.

For TV on dvd I've got mostly animated shows, South Park, Family Guy, American Dad and Venture Bros. (which is supremely awesome and should be watched by everyone).

I used to be picky about apples but our local grocer really sucks and their stock is never consistent, so now I just take what I can find.

The person below me has given up some vice recently (within 3 months).

True, though I wonder if it counts since it's something I never enjoyed anyway...I've given up blaming myself for things which have nothing to do with me (i.e. my parents' divorce). I've never been a drinker or smoker and I'm not exactly promiscuous, so my vices tend to be rather small. =p

I don't like apples very much, especially the red ones. (I suspect it's probably because so many were practically shoved down my throat when I was a kid.) Once in awhile, though, I like to bite into a Granny Smith or Golden Delicious, neither of which can be accused of being red. Very Happy

Technically I can eat fried foods, but I prefer not to. The thought of them makes me feel sick.

The person below me has experienced culture shock upon returning home from a trip to another country.

Well, when I came back to Michigan after being in Georgia...oh, wait you said a different country....oops!

I actually haven't been out of the country, except for the Canadian side of Niagara Falls.

I love apples. All kinds. Yum!

Fried foods are like watching Napoleon Dynamite. You can only stand them for so long before you want to throw up.

Man, I always wanted a boa when I was a kid! Now I think I have to wait until I can pass for "ecentric old bat" before I'll get one for myself! (I live in a city of 70,000, and it's still too small to get away with anything like that! I still want one!)

I was in college before I found out that green apples could be ripe apples (Granny Smith, etc.) I lived in small towns, where the produce aisle was probably no more that 20 feet, and Red Delicious and Jonathans (for apple pie) were the only things in stock!

I remember going into Mexico when I was 10 on a family vacation, and we got lost. We were in such a poverty stricken area...I've never forgotten it, and it still amazes me how much we have that we don't need.

The person below me is still on the computer, even though they need to be someplace else!

Yes and No. I need to be on the computer, but I need to get off the internet. Rolling Eyes

I have a boa lurking somewhere around my house. It's black. My sister gave it to me because she didn't want it anymore. Yay for hand-me-downs! Very Happy

The person below me likes comic books.
