Yup, I do, though mostly for journals of my rp characters. It's about the only way I keep up with my friends too.

Seems I have too much in common with Lady Whitehart and hp4freak. Clarinet and sax (tenor) here too. I studied music ed in college, one of the best schools of music in the south, actually. Didn't finish due to not getting along with the new clarinet instructor. Sucks when your clarinet instructor decides he'd rather be a minister in the middle of my schooling. Sad Ah well. The assistant dean didn't care for me either.

The person below me likes to crosstich/crochet/etc. (not me. My hubby has those skills.)

True. My mother taught me to crochet when I was about 19 or 20, and since she's left-handed I learned how to crochet left-handed.

Admittedly I do play a band instrument, but not one in a brass band. I play the bagpipes for the only competition pipe and drum band in my city.

I also keep a LiveJournal which is updated pretty sporadically. I think I haven't said anything there in about a month.

The person below me knows where Sault Ste. Marie is. (Either one.)

Not 100% sure, but I think it's in Michigan or else right over the border in Canada. Either way, I know that my dad was there at one point or another. Retired and traveling. Laughing

Knit and crochet? I'd love to learn. Quilting is my thing--cool weather only.

The person below me has gone to a college reunion.

False. Haven't quite graduated yet (one class to go!), so no reunions.

I cross-stich occassionally. I have one about half-way done, and think I may have lost some of the stuff that goes to it. I'm bad about that.

I don't have an online journal, but do post to some drabble communities on LiveJournal.

The person below me keeps a notebook in their purse/bag. I do; you never know when you'll get inspired.

False. I don't have the room with all the other junk I carry around.

I attend the dentist every six months, comes from all the orthodontic work.

I dislike eggs... and quiche.

I was forced to play the recorder at school, haven't touched an instrument since.

I want to learn to knit but my grandmother won't teach me, I cross-stitch sometimes. I share a boat with hp4freek; it's all hiding in a box, somewhere.

The person below me can ice skate.

Absolutely and utterly false. I was the only kid in my class who was exempt from the occasional ice-skating field trips we took (there was a small rink within walking distance of my school) on the grounds that I was a danger to myself and others because of my sheer lack of co-ordination on the ice. This is, naturally, a source of great amusement to a friend of mine who played hockey until he hurt his leg falling off of a roof.

I keep a notebook and several pens in my purse for several reasons. One, of course, is the obvious "inspiration" thing, not just for stories but for music as well. I also find it's useful for shopping lists (I try to get in and out of a grocery store as quickly as possible because I hate those places), important phone numbers and even the occasional illustration to help explain a point.

The person below me sings when they're driving.

(By the way, LadyWhitehart, you were right; there's a Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan and a Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario on the border between Canada and the USA, very close to where Lake Superior, Lake Huron and Lake Michigan appear to meet on maps of Ontario or Michigan.)

True much to the horror of anyone who is riding with me. Laughing Actually, I'm really not THAT bad, but my oldest daughter has made me promise never to do it when her friends are with us.

The person below me buys things on E bay.

(Pennfana--Yea, me!)

Is there anyone who *doesn't* buy things on ebay?

Speaking of which...well, not really, but ebay got me thinking about Weird Al's song about ebay, and that got me thinking about a really funny video to Weird Al's "Your Horoscope for Today" that's on YouTube. Be warned that it may require multiple viewings, or even frame-by-frame advancement--it's *really* funny. However, as a supplementary warning, if you are easily offended by things that don't suit your religious or political views, you might not want to watch it.

I used to be able to ice skate. I also used to cross-stitch, crochet, and knit, but I never seem to have time anymore.

The person below me uses homeopathic medicines.

Semi-true. I use whatever works best for me for that particular ailment. I try to stick with the "natural before synthetic" rule, and since one of my best friends is an accupuncturist and herbalist, I can do that pretty often. However, Advil, Tylenol and pseudophedrine are still my friend.

I ice skated briefly when I was little, but I always preferred gymnastics and horseback riding.

I cross stitch regularly, and am just in the process of finishing up a wedding present for some friends. (We'll ignore the fact that their wedding was in June... Embarassed )

And I actually have never bought anything off ebay. But my dad's a longtime seller so I suppose that counterbalances me. Wink

The person below me has studied in a foreign country for a significant amount of time (more than a 1 week thing).

True.

Germany (specifically West Germany, back when there was an East and West) for the last year of high school.

Russia, back when it was the Soviet Union, for one semester at Leningrad University (Petersburg now, I think).

And yes, I speak German and Russian. Or used to, anyway. Still pretty good at reading them.

The person below me speaks English as a second language.

False, I don't even really speak a second language (despite the three years of Spanish I took). But I can understand it to a degree.

I've never studied anywhere else, but would have loved to.

I've never bought anything off ebay either, but have looked on there from time to time. I just never found anything I wanted (yes, I know - they have everything).

The person below me actually plays this game in another forum, too.

Sort of true. I was part of another forum which has since been abandoned; the boards are all still there and the messages are intact, but its members have pretty much left it. I and two others are trying to keep things going, but even we only visit it once in awhile. We played it as "The Person Above Me", though.

That was a fun board to be part of. One thread on the strangeness of the phrase "just my two cents", for example, escalated into a full-fledged "penny war" with imaginary spare change being flung left and right. Mr. Green

English isn't my second language, but sometimes I speak as if it were. (Please don't ask.) I also speak French and Italian--though not fluently--and a native speaker of German has told me that my accent when I'm singing it (my choir's been singing in German for years) is nearly flawless, though I don't understand more than a handful of German words and phrases.

The person below me knows how to make origami figures.

Edit: Changed "frequently" to "fluently", which is what I meant to say in the first place. I find it sort of amusing that I made that mistake just after I said something about speaking English as if it weren't actually my mother tongue.

FALSE! It drives me insane, I tried to fold a rose for a friend for her birthday, but, well...

The person below me had to buy a birthday present this month.

Not yet, but I'm going shopping today for a friend's birthday tomorrow (I know - I'm a procrastinator).

I successfully folded a flying bird once, but haven't been able to get it right since.

The person below me uses a laptop.

Usually true. (Not at the moment, though, as I haven't got any place on the desk to put it so I'm using my mother's desktop computer.) I've had my iBook for about a year and a half and I generally prefer to use it, especially as it's never been fried in a lightning storm like this one was at the end of last March. We're lucky that the Dell still works, really, but it still acts up on us from time to time.

The person below me has spent a significant portion of their life around horses.
