True, but just barely, though I've never been afraid of either. When I was a kid I actually used to pick up and play with the garter snakes I found in my backyard, a fact which drove my mom absolutely crazy. (Amazingly, I was never bitten.) I never tried to play with the spiders, though; I just watched them.

False. Kind of. When I was in fourth grade, my school taught us archery briefly. It was actually kind of sad. Which, incidentally, was about the same time in my life when I was playing in the back yard with garter snakes, too. My mom thought I was insane, and would pat me down before I was allowed back in the house, after I tried to sneak one in. I never got bitten either.

Sort of true? I'm definitely more of a cat person. If I could only have one pet, it would be a cat. And cats are the only pets that I've had for most of my adult life. But I grew up with dogs, and my middle son has a dog now (a somewhat obnoxious Rat/Jack Russell-cross), and I would say that I'm sort of a dog person. Just not as much as I am a cat person.
I've done archery at school and scouts, but never had formal lessons as such. I did get my own bow (wimpy little 25-pounder), which I still have (well, middle son has taken possession of that, too).
I'm not terribly fond of spiders *or* snakes, but I much prefer snakes to spiders. I'm not really "phobic" about spiders like I was when I was a child, but I *will* panic if one gets on me.
I think Alan Rickman was too old to begin with, but considering that the filmmakers have also conveniently neglected the fact that Lily and James would have been in their very early twenties when they died, it doesn't seem to matter much one way or the other.
The person below me loves autumn the best of any season.

Sort of true. Weather's not too hot or too cold, prettier than summer or winter, not as messy as spring. The main problem is the days are getting shorter, and I suffer from SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder).
Never done archery, but I was trained to use a gun when I was in the Air Force. Got my marksmanship ribbon, even. I'd never touched a gun before, so I had no bad habits to unlearn. Amazing how well you can do when you actually follow the teacher's instructions.
Never had any fear of snakes or spiders growing up. Now, I think a snake would make me nervous (mostly because I wouldn't be able to tell whether it was poisonous or not). I'm still not afraid of spiders, but unlike when I was growing up, I now find them "icky."
And yes, Alan Rickman is too old and too handsome for Snape. Snape isn't necessarily *ugly*, but he's not that good looking, either. Alan's got the voice, though, and I like the way he plays Snape.
The person below me has taken motorcycle driving lessons. (Yup, I did that, then couldn't afford to actually buy one.) |

Definitely false; I've never had any inclination to drive or ride on a motorbike. Horseback riding, however, is a different story; I used to absolutely love going over jumps, especially when the horse was cantering up to it; it felt like flying.
Autumn really is my favourite season; no more mosquitoes or blackflies. (The blackflies in Northern Ontario are practically the stuff of legends; there's even an old song that complains about them. The chorus goes "Blackfly, the little blackfly, always the blackfly no matter where you go! I'll die with the blackfly a-pickin' my bones in North Ontario-i-o, in North Ontar-i-o.")

False. I can't whistle, but my singing is terrible!
Autumn is my favourite season, not too hot not too cold and spring gives me Hayfever.
I can ride a motorbike but have never taken lessons. I'm a horserider too but I'm not allowed to ride anymore 'cos everyone thinks I'll break my leg again if I get thrown.

True. I'm one of the two volunteer bagpipe instructors for my pipe band's teaching program; this year I watched one of my first students compete for the first time, and I was as proud of him as he and his family were. Also, before I got too busy I used to volunteer at an animal shelter.

When I want to pun, I have a hard time, but when I don't want to, I get real groaners. My latest pun: We got a late ding on our electric bill, and got the shut off notice, but I paid up, including the upcoming month, and now we're current.
Alan has yet to gain an Oscar for his shelf of awards.
I think that with the OoP he may have a chance, as Snape's range of emotions include simpering (Draco telling him his dad thinks he would be a great headmaster - at least I recall him doing it, maybe it was another word); teaching Occlumency; (almost) duel with Sirius; annoyance at Umbridge, anger at Potter, even greater anger at Potter, and everything else that was going on.
Of the six books, Snape is the most present, most active, most and widest emotional range in OoP, and therefore, he will be in the movie. And because of his past body of work (and Parade magazine said so), this "scene stealing hack" (GQ) is overdue.
(Looks like this entry needs severe beta-ing, but I'm gonna be late for work).
Which brings me to this:
The person below me was on time! |

True. I'm a little DELETE rententive about being on time, to the point where I usually arrive ten minutes early.
LadyWhiteheart - You're a gardener too? Being stuck in this apartment is getting me all depressed... no dirt to play in. I bought some tulips and daffodils that I'm going to force in my (indoor) window planter pretty soon.

True, at least for HBP. OotP was already released when I first got slurped up by the series. I plan to reread them before book 7 is released too.
The person below me ate something oh-so-yummy but oh-so-unhealthy at their last meal (she says, while polishing off obscene quantities of smoked gouda for dinner). |

True. There was home-made, baked mac and cheese at the whitehart household tonight Loads of cheese and pasta and butter--definately not good for you. I did have an apple for dessert (dipped in caramel )
Rereading the series is a must before Book 7.
The person below me is excited about the last one but dreading it in some ways too. I don't want Snape to die! |

True. Most definitely true.
Rickman sprinting: tee hee!
Here is a pretty close version of my Snape: http://shillusions.com/displayimage.php?album=lastupby&cat=0&pos=5&uid=965
I reread the books before HBP and will probably do so again for book 7.
