Dear All,
It's summer vacation! Well, mostly. I should be researching, but there's always time for fic.
I'm wondering if you have recommendations for a few really excellent, long fics. I'm thinking upwards of 30 chapters. I'm usually an Ashwinder reader, but I'm starting to think I've read all the best of the older fics, and I'm hungry for something new that I can sink my teeth into. I'm up for just about any primary pairing except Hermione and Ron. (If HG/RW is peripheral to the main story, I don't mind, but I'm not looking for a story that centers on them.)
For those of you who do read HG/SS, some examples of long fics I've read and loved are Lariope's "Second Life" and Snarkyroxy's "Before the Dawn"--both at Ashwinder and excellent stories if you haven't read them.

It's 17 chapters, and very well-written.
You might want to check out the various series at Lumos. I have a set there, "Richard Goodfellow". http://lumos.sycophanthex.com/browse.php?type=series.
I'm not aware of Chaos stories having more than a few chapters, but then, I haven't read them all, either.
I know that there's a good HP/GW one at Lumos, but I can't remember the story right now - it's an AU one, where they were promised to each other by their fathers before they were born. |

For all that I know, you may have already read these stories -- but for what it's worth, four of my personal favorites in terms of novel-length SS/HG fanfics are:
"A Choice Of Roads" by Imhilien -- a WIP which is (unfortunately) updated infrequently yet one of my all-time favorite SS/HG fics regardless of length.

"For Someone Special" by LadyOfTheMasque -- *truly* "epic" in every conceivable sense of the word, since it tops out at a whopping one hundred and sixty-six chapters(!), but a captivating and very well-written story.

"In Annulo" by LadyOfTheMasque -- not nearly as long as FSS, but equally as good (LadyOfTheMasque is one of my favorite SS/HG authors) and highly creative.
