True!
I've realised I didn't come to this thread for a week.

The person below me is sick of the bad weather (been raining for two days and the weather cast says it will rain for 2 more days)

False. It's been gorgeous here for the past couple of days, for which i am definitely grateful.

The person below me has done some baking recently.

True. I baked some cupcakes (with my kid's help) since he decided I couldn't have a birthday without a cake or something. He mixed everything in the bowl while I supervised, then I poured everything into the cupcake pans and baked it in the oven. Of course, then I let him and his friends take the cupcakes with them when they went to build a fort.

The person below me is procrastinating right now (I know I am). Wink

I think procrastination is my middle name. I really should be working on my fics, but I'm putting it off to do stuff like laundry.

The person below me has a fic they want to finish before DH comes out.

True. I'll be fortunate if I finish the "book" I'm currently on.
Here's the latest chapter I posted: http://lumos.sycophanthex.com/viewstory.php?sid=2826&i=1

I have five chapters after it: "Draco's Detention", (a title that hasn't been decided yet), "The Aftermath","The Welsh Pony",and"The Decisions of Mr. Malfoy". They're drafted, but not finished.

There were also two completed Severus stories I wanted to post, that got eaten by the computer during an up-grade, before I found out about backing up off-site.

I should stop procrastinating and go pay bills and stuff.

Go laundry to do, too.

The person below me has started her garden.

Yes... technically. My husband and I plant at garden at my in-laws' beach cottage every spring. We worked on it this weekend.

I'm a huge procrastinator.

I have lots of stories I'd like to get out before DH, but I can't write. I have no enthusiasm at all. I want to write, but I have no ideas. It's really getting frustrating. I just want to write a one-shot!

I'm not really fond of reality TV. Spiderman 3 has been so hyped that I almost don't want to see it. I'll go to a matinee.

I wish the weather would decide what it's going to do.

The person below me feels the HP fanfic universe will die after the release of DH. (I am not one of those. I know it will go on.)

False. It will change. Just like Star Trek and Star Wars. It won't be as frantic, and a lot will depend on who lives and who dies, and how the corruption at the Ministry of Magic is handled. And it will depend upon if JKR and the powers that be approve of comic book lines (a.k.a. Star Wars) and/or novels (both) to pump new blood in. Who knew that Batman would still be going on?

But for the computer fandom, of hundreds of Harry Potter fanfics being posted at fanfiction.net every week, that will quiet down.

I've got to get to work now.

The person below my tried something new today, and has more to add to the fanfic question jynx67 posted

Kinda sort of... working on something super top secret right now Razz

What an entirely none answer that is. I seriously don't think that the last book will be the end of the fandom. I'm a huge Trekker, and look at how Star Trek has survived since the first series was canceled (before I was born). The of course there is the Buffy the Vampire fandom, and Doctor Who has survived many deaths and lulls. JK has left so much open-ended that there is tons of material to still flesh out.

Anyhow, I took my kid to see Spiderman 3 on Friday night (we went to the midnight showing), and it was okay. Based on the first two movies I was expecting... more. It wasn't horrible by any means, just it had far too many story lines, and so a lot of potential was wasted.

The person below me is participating in the SSHG_Exchange over on livejournal and isn't done yet (at least I hope so, cause I want to do a pinch hit again and so far everyone’s on target Evil or Very Mad ).

True.
I'm not done yet but hopefully I'll be on time. I need to do minor rephrasing (some parts of dialogue don't sound very IC), and then I need it to be beta'ed.
I'm a bit in panic because my usual lovely hand-holding helping friend is in panic for her own exchange fic, and my usual beta is considering asking Shiv an extension, so I'm feeling a bit alone and lost.

I don't believe that the fanfic universe would die. But it will change.
As I reminded someone the other day, the part of the fandom that follows mostly the movies is still a long way from finishing (their particular) canon.
Another Trekker around? wow. Celisnebula, do you read ST fanfic?

No garden for me. I am preparing my plants to survive winter, though. Not that they need too much preparing... just checking they don't drown of too much rain... or that they are getting enough sun.

I think I'm forgetting something.

The person below me likes to watch soap operas.

False. I can't stand them.

I guess I can say that I've tried something new today—nothing significant, just a new flavour of fruit juice. Lemons and mangos go surprisingly well together, though the taste does take some getting used to.

I'm another one who thinks that the HP fandom will change rather than die out once Book 7 is released. For example, look at all the Snape-centric fic out there—it didn't disappear when HBP came out, but some people thought that it would because of what he did at the end of the book. Besides, there's nothing stopping people from writing "impossible" plot lines and giving these stories that nifty little "Alternate Universe" label. (Canon purists may not like stories like that, but then, who can say that their fanfic is 100% pure canon anyway? After all, the story can be as consistent with JKR's universe as JKR's writing itself, but the fact remains that it's not something that she wrote, so it isn't really canon. Or at least, that's the way i see it.)

As for gardening, it's far better for the poor plants if I don't start one. I seem to have the uncanny ability to make perfectly healthy plants die, even if I take care of them.

The person below me occasionally does experimental cooking.

False. The farthest I stay from the kitchen the better for anyone wanting to eat. *nods* I hate cooking so I can follow a recipe but I don't experiment. I just keep to basics.

As for fanfic, I just remember someone's comment about one fic in particular. She said she wanted to re-read that particular one after book 7, because she thought (as a lot of us do) that it was the way we wanted DH to be, but as we'll be surely disappointed by JKR, Lotm's fic was a way to have what we wanted.

And because I can't think of another thing to say as a last sentence, I'll repeat myself hoping for someone else than Pennfana being the next one posting. Razz

*shudders* No... can't stand them. Rather watch the cartoon network instead!

I do indeed read Star Trek fan fiction, along with Doctor Who (read a lovely Doctor Who/ HP cross over), Firefly, Buffy, Heroes, Lost, Torchwood, X-files, X-men, and a whole host of other fan fiction. What can I say? I like free entertainment!

I don't grow anything... even my grass dies if I touch it, so my kid is in charge of all of that. He's even growing some roses this year (which I'm not allowed to even breath on since he's afraid I'll kill it).

I really haven't had any complaints about the way JK has written Harry Potter. It may not be the way I envisioned things happening, but *shrugs* that is what fan fiction is for!

The person below me thinks that Gerard Butler isn't being used to his full potential as an actor.

False. Haven't seen either him or the movie "300".

I would like to read more about that war, though.

I liked watching "Passions", but quit when the incest story arc was introduced (after Timmy's death, and the surprising same-day death of his actor), and then we didn't have television for a while. However, a few days ago, I saw Endora's first day at play-group, where she turned a classmate into a kitty cat. If they'd stuck with the magic and stayed away from the "let's see how far we can take the bedroom scenes", maybe it wouldn't have been cancelled - it ends in September.

I saw the latest issue of People magazine, featuring six women who lost 100 pounds each, without surgergy or drugs. Wish I was one. It's would be nice to have this 100 off and be back to my high school weight.

The person below me has a weight problem.

Not really. According to that chart thing they have at the doctors I'm slightly underweight, but blurrgh to that; I eat more then most people I know and none of it's healthy!

I just tried this 'Philidelphia' spread stuff, yummy!

I used to watch 'Passions' whenever I was home from school but they don't show it on T.V here any more. And occasionally when I'm staying with my mother I'll watch 'Days of Our Lives' with her-- She LOVES soapies. Mostly though I avoid them.

Plants fear me (Actually that's a fib I have a knack for growing weeds. Do they count!?) and I do not experiment with food, I can however follow a recipe.

I too think that fandom will change.

O.k, I think that's about it... The person below me is rather sore at the moment. (I was nursing a friends guinea pig when my dog decided to eat it. The guinea pig made a run for it and I had to dive (literally) after it. It so happens that the concrete is hardier than me! I did catch the rodent though! Yay for scrapes, bruises and broken thumbs!)

True, though it's not really all that bad—I sprained my left ankle yesterday. One of my cats has a habit of moving the water dish, and he tends to spill a bit of water while he's doing it because he moves it fairly quickly. I didn't see the patch of water on the kitchen floor, so when I was running back into the house to get my cell phone before going out for a bit...well, you can probably guess what happened.

Wonga, I hope you make a fast recovery! *hugs carefully so as to not further irritate your injuries*

I'm rather against calling a bit of extra weight a "weight problem", though, unless it interferes with a person's quality of life. And while I'm definitely what most people would consider to be overweight—I'm 5 foot 7 and I wear a size 22—my doctor admits that there's absolutely nothing wrong with me. I eat in moderation, and most of the food I eat is healthy. Because I play the bagpipes and frequently take long walks, I get more exercise than most thin people I know. So while I'd admit that my body is unfashionably large, I wouldn't say that I have a "weight problem".

The only Gerard Butler film I've seen is "Phantom of the Opera", so I can't really say that I know much about his acting style, but it would be nice to see him in more films.

The person below me likes to fly kites.
