I think it would be really fun to have a Fanart Challenge. I really suck at coming up with ideas, so please brace yourselves:
Unknown passions or loves of our favorite characters.
Not necessarily sex-related, but illustrating a passion you think a character would have, but would be fairly surprising to the rest of us. The funnier or more outlandish, the better.
Either that, or any character in their first year or receiving their Hogwart's letter, no matter their current age in canon.
If anyone else has any ideas, please send them along!  |

Btw, isn't the link on Illusions great? It certainly saved me the trouble of trying to figure out how to make the link myself.  That would have been bad. |

Oh Liquidscissoooooooooooooooors!
Ya know, someone (geez, I forget who) did a GREAT pic of Snapey lying on his bed, reading a Harlequin type romance novel, and eating chocolate frogs. (wonderful pic!!) I think it was for a similar challenge, but I have no idea when/where it was originally challenged from.
Three things that always make me go hmmm...
What would other characters: (ones not already written about)
Have as a Patronus?
See as their Boggart?
See in the mirror of Erised?
Those could be fun drawings as well.
*raises hand* Um, I think I know what I would see in the mirror of Erised!! I"ll give you a hint--I'm naked, and so is Snape. Sheesh, what a shameless bionic fangirl I am!! Oh God, that gives me an idea for a pic...snerk snerk! |

yes, I've seen the picture too(Snape on bed with a pink-coloured book and so on). I think it was for a challenge called "Secret Obsessions", but I don't know anything more about it.
The Mirror of Erised- thing is a good idea... though it really sounds like something that could already have been a topic for a challenge as well... |

Blast! I knew that idea didn't just come from nowhere, although I thought it did.
Yeah, I agree with Julia Z, the mirror of Erised was probably done as well.
 ! Ooh, we can say any of the characters lost a bet, and they have to wear something embarrassing for Halloween... even though it's months away.
Maybe I just want to see Snape in drag... |

Well, if we're going to wait for a completely original idea to surface, we might all be too old to hold a pencil by then!
I like all of the ideas, let's pick one. (or two)
Sometimes, if the parameters are too large, it's overwhelming and the 'challenge' part is lost.

ungh, I hate having to make decisions. I really don't care that much which one we pick, because we can always have more challenges later.
Yeah, I agree if given too broad a challenge, none of the submissions really seem related at all. Hmm.... |

I've placed a sticky here that lists the challenge name, as well as where it can be placed in the art albums. I'd much rather keep the challnge pieces in their own albums rather than throwing them into the hodge-podge of general albums, that way you can find directly what you're looking for.  |

Is there any way to post an announcement on the top of the home page of illusions? (Or is there already one there and I"m a dolt and missed it??)
Something explaining the challenge? (what it is and it's parameters.)
Along the lines of...
Illusions Art Challenge, Feb/06
Dear Talented and Twisted Artists,
We would like to put forth a HP challenge titled the Mirror of Erised.
Pick a canon character (in any time frame; past, present or future) and show us what they would see in the Mirror of Erised, keeping in mind that although Harry and Dumbledore have both revealed to us what JK thought they would see, a 20 year old Dumbldore or a 40 year old Harry might see very different things!
