Story title: "Unchained Melody" (Working title, subject to change.)
Summary: Adrienne Emerson received her Hogwarts owl at age eleven, but by her mother's rule she was not allowed to attend the wizard academy until she had finished her Muggle schooling. Now technically an adult, she finds herself in the unusual position of attending Hogwarts as an 18-year-old first year. Unfortunately, her overachiever attitude creates a rivalry between her and the resident potions master, which takes an odd turn when they realize they may have feelings for one other. How far will they go to fight the attraction?
Rating: K+ / PG-13+** for language and sexual innuendo.
Category/Genres: Romance

Warnings: Dark themes (murder, suicide) mentioned briefly, alcohol consumption.
Any special requests: Please leave the plot be. I'm quite happy with it. 
Other random tidbits:
* What I'm mainly looking for is someone to double-check my grammar, spelling, characterization, general prose, and canon-ness. Britpicking would be a bonus, but isn't required.
* I am American, and I would like to keep everything formatted and spelled in the American style that I am used to ("Color!" vs. 'Colour!'). Dialogue and vocabulary may be changed to suit the Britishness ("lift" vs. "elevator").
* This is my first HP fanfic, but not my first fic overall. I've been working on this one for over a year, and I still haven't finished the plot.
* I use MS Word. So far the file is just shy of 50,000 words. (That's around 100 pages, single-spaced, with 12 point font.)
* I have, so far, an 11th grade highschool education. I would prefer it if my beta had more educational experience than I do.
* This fic has already been partially-beta'd once over.
* I fully intend to give credit to any and all betas (I'm always up for more than one) who help me with this piece.
* If you'd like, I am always open to cross-beta'ing. (You beta my fic, and I beta yours simultaneously in return.) Just please remember that I am a full-time student with a hectic schedule, so my responses may not be as fast as they would be otherwise.
