Here's the challenge: Write a fic that's somehow based upon the song "Who I Am" by Smile Empty Soul.
FinalBattle!Fic wouldn't be out of place, nor would Angst!fic, but honestly I'm leaving this challenge mostly up to you, the talented authors.
I do want to see Severus angsting heavily, possibly over some assignment down in his dungeons, or while others are partying--
Speak especially to the lines in bold, including the first two (wherein lies the angst.)
I *literally* want to *see* him rip off his mask in front of a whole contingent of DE's and Voldemort during a (The) "Battle." I want him to go stand with the Order afterward.
He might even literally look someone (Lucius?) in the eye before casting an AK or similar.
I want the line "another night of people..." to be dealt with during an Order meeting, where Severus is summarily verbally denounced whben they think he can't hear, as always. I want him to get upset about it, confront them, maybe storm out.
Some romantic elements wouldn't be out-of-place, either. I want to hopefully see angst/comfort and/or hurt/comfort, and Severus finally realizes that Hermione is the only one who *truly* understands him (even though she knew it all along!)
A sampling of lyrics:
"Who I Am"
Another night again/Another journey without friends
Another fight to wish away the loneliness I live
Another circus show/Another face that I don’t know
Another night of people asking what I have to give
I thought that I would drown/But it’s okay right now
[Chorus:]
And all the miles away I feel a part of me I have to fight
Buried somewhere deep beneath my skin
The emptiness in me is faded/And I can see my life is waiting
Now I know I’m living for who I am [2x]
The fire grows inside/The feeling cannot be denied
And everywhere I turn the size of guys they push me
And all has fallen down/But it’s okay right now
[Chorus:]
And everything seems great but everyone is fake
No one really knows you
Look into their eyes/Rip off your disguise/Let them see the real you[/quote]
So, what do you think? I think you authors can handle it!
Include lyrics or not, or even at the end, but I want to *know* which lines these events/situations are speaking to. |
