The Involuntarily Stuck Together Challenge for Occlumency
Due date: 3/4/2005
by Fionnait NíPheadar

Premise: Snape and an OFC must be stuck together for at least 48 hours, at most two weeks. (Whether you lock them into a broom-cupboard, tie them together, assign them a task where they constantly have to be around each other or who-knows-what is your choice. Be creative!)

The OFC

  • must be a pure-blooded Slytherin from an aristocratic family, who has already graduated but was at one point Snape’s student.
  • comes from a family that either despises You-Know-Who or has always remained neutral.
  • ‘s first serious boyfriend was a Squib. She has to mention him at least once.
  • must say: “I was/am too much of a witch.”
  • has caused a major potions-incident while being Snape’s student, but Snape doesn’t know it was her fault.

Snape

  • has to be in physical pain at some point of the story and the OFC has to take care of him. (Bonus points if the pain is related to the Dark Mark.)
  • must make a derisive comment about Christmas decorations.
  • has to wear mismatching socks.
  • must make at least three sarcastic and hurtful comments.
  • has to be extremely irritated at one point and do something which would normally be out of character.

Other

  • Dumbledore has to tell the OFC that Snape is a spy. Whether he has done so before they are stuck together or does so while they are is up to you.
  • Snape and the OFC must at least kiss.
  • Someone must tell a “Squib-joke”. Whether that is a joke about Squibs or a joke that Squibs make about wizards is up to you. (Bonus points if your joke starts with: “How does a Squib/wizard replace a broken light-bulb.”)
  • Somebody must say: “You might as well say it.”
  • The Sorting Hat must appear or at least be mentioned.

Bonus points if

  • the OFC has a traditional English name.
  • you manage to include a shoe in an unexpected context.
  • you find a good reason why the OFC’s family might - as a wizarding family - celebrate Christmas the way that Muggles do.
  • there is an allusion to Katie Melua’s song “My Aphrodisiac Is You”.
  • Snape and the OFC do more than kissing.

If you think that there are one or two points that you absolutely can’t include you are also invited. Just skip them.
