I think this was a one-shot, quite a few years old. HG is a teacher at Hogwarts and falls for SS at a masked ball, not know ing who he is. They conceive a child (and possibly meet up each year at the ball?), I can't remember if he knows who she is the first time. They become best friends over the years, and he is a father-figure to Hermione's child (a boy). After SS's death, HG and her grown-up son find a box containing the mask he wore which proves he was the father, and a letter saying how much he loved them both.

It's really frustrating that I remember it so well, but I don't have any useful keywords to search for! If anyone know what this is called, I'd be really grateful. Thanks!
