Rather interesting, reading this on the heels of the Garth Nix one. I'm more inspired to do a fanfic for this one than for the other one.

And it's odd, too, that both of them have the things in the air that can be used for magic. The Enchanted Forest, where the king pulls on threads of magic, and where, in the Nix series, the Charter seems to me to be an ever-moving rope of magic that certain people can literally pull from anytime that they need or want to.

I liked how well old fairy tales were incorporated, without them becoming stale.
