Hi everyone!

So...I had pretty much decided about a month ago to give up wondering who the Half-Blood Prince is. Well, more like decided to stop thinking about it obsessively...

But I came across an interesting point the other day (I think it was on the HP Lexicon). The general consensus from most people I have talked to has been that they believe the title is refering to a half-blood who is a 'prince'. One of the posts suggested, however, that instead it is refering to someone who is the 'prince' of the half-bloods...that this person could be anyone, of any bloodline, but be considered a leader or hero of sorts by the half-bloods. Which brings to mind some of the major half-blood canon characters, mainly Harry and Voldemort, and thoughts of who on earth could possibly be seen as a 'prince' by both of them...

Of course, I'm probably one of the last people to come to the realization that there is more than one theory about the meaning of the title, but I'm a little slow on the uptake sometimes...The mild depression that my WIP will be completely smashed to hell with the new canon has rendered my brain utterly useless as of late...sigh. But it's new canon, and that's far more interesting to me than what kind of crap I can put the characters through in my next chapter, so I'll get over it. Laughing

Anyway, I'm still trying to figure out which opinion I think fits most closely with what canon information we have from the books so far, which really isn't much help in discerning the meaning of the title, and I'm losing the battle with myself to just stop thinking about it until the book is released.

But I thought I would post this here, and see what other people's thoughts were on the identity of the HBP...
