Once again I'm looking for a fic I can only remember a little bit of, and I'm afraid what I remember is more or less irrelevant for the main plot of the story; but here goes...
I'm looking for a fic where the conflict between Voldemort and the Wizarding-world is steadely escelating, and threatening to spill over into the Muggle-world. Harry somehow learns about a secret weapon made by the Muggles (who are not as ignorant about magic as the Wiz-world thought), which can stop/block all magic in a radius around it for some time -- dropping wards and preventing spell from being cast.
Fearing that Voldemort may use this device to drop the wards around Hogwarts, Harry decides to destroy two and steal one of the devices. He buys some stuff -- balaclavas, waterguns, black clothing -- and enlists the help of Ron, Hermione and (I'm pretty sure) Ginny... and possibly Neville and Luna.
Pretending to belong to an IRA splinter-group, they attack the reserach-lab disquised as a weatherstation (or something), disables the guard and procedes to the underground facility. Here Harry destroys two devices and steals one.
They make sure to hide all magic from the cameras, and looks completly muggle.
As they're leaving, a guard returns from a coffee-run, and nearly capture them, but Harry manages to fight himself free.
As I said, this is not even an important part of the whole story, but does it sound familiar to anybody? |
