In this fanfic Snape is a death eater and I believe that binds himself to Hermione withsome type of blood magic. He explains to her that there is more behind being a death eater...I believe that he meant that the name implied just that that he had to consume death (in the way of menstrual blood I think...)
I know thats not much to work with, but that's all I can remember.....
Someone HELP! Please..... |

| I'm not entirely certain that this is the story you're trying to remember, but the one which pops into my mind based on your description is "Cloak Of Courage" by WendyNat. Available on Ashwinder, it's a very complex (and I think, extremely well-written) story which revolves around blood magic -- specifically, how it relates to the Call Of The Blood (a consuming hunger to cause pain and destruction, preferably drawing blood, which overtakes anyone who studies and practices the Dark Arts in depth, much like the Dark Side of the Force from "Star Wars"). In this story, Severus's interest in and practice of the Dark Arts when he was younger made him succumb to the Call Of The Blood but he's only one of three people to succeed in overcoming it instead of it overcoming him. Viktor Krum is a Death Eater and is secretly plotting to tempt Hermione into succumbing to the Call Of The Blood by offering her ways to take revenge for the murder of Ron and her parents by Death Eaters -- and when the Marriage Law is passed, she is compelled to marry Severus in an effort to prevent Krum's plan from succeeding. |
