Story title: Loyaulte me lie
Summary: Severus Snape is in Azkaban, awaiting his trial for the murder of Albus Dumbledore. When the trial occurs, what, if anything, will he say in his defence? A snapshot of Snape before and during his trial, and a prequel to The Secret Papers of Regulus Black.
Rating: Uncertain. There's some mild humiliation and a Full Body-Bind, and allusions to torture (Cruciatus Curse) and murder/assisted suicide (Dumbledore's).
Category/Genres: Tragedy
Ship: None, in this snapshot, but the further sequel, which is still a work in progress (Unforgivable) will include a SS/HG *friendship*.
Warnings: disgusting ingredients, allusion to torture (one of the guards laments that the Cruciatus Curse is an Unforgivable), allusion to murder/assisted suicide (Dumbledore's).
Length: currently 4,288 words.
Special requests: This has already been beta-read a few times by melusin, who did a wonderful job with the Brit-picking and grammar. I'm still not entirely satisfied with the content. It seems somewhat boring to me, and I would like to make the emotional impact stronger without going into melodrama. So, I'm particularly looking for someone who will be able to spend the time to help me move it beyond "okay". This may mean I'll have to rewrite parts, which in turn, will mean that the grammar and such will also likley have to be touched up. In other words, I'm not looking for a quick fix-up, for those of you who are already really busy. |
