Thanks! At least now I have an idea... I wondered if people was reading the story there. It was a pain in the arse to post, so I wanted to know if at least it was worth the efford.

Well, it is a pain in the neck to post there, but last I checked, the Sugar Quill wasn't taking any new authors, and, all in all, FA is a lively site.

Reviews there are pretty much of the "LOL, Gr8 flic, Dude", but there are some nice features (such as "The Niflers Recommend" which are recommendations of other sites, but I've never seen anything from SH there, probably due to SH being classified as an "adult" website).

But you never can beat the "I am creeped out OMG gross" review I've got at ff.net for Valentine For Three. Which, BTW, it was clearly labeled as LM/SS/HG. And it's pure fluff, there's nothing more than snuggling and the very vague mention of them together.

Trying to find the reviews for the stories I've received at ff.net is a pain. I'm trying to find one now, and I'm having trouble finding the story. I keep getting routed to the editing function.

You're right, I can't beat that, but I have my favorite almost-flame for my "Elfquest/Harry Potter cross-over there at the Comics-Elfquest page. Basically it was a strong, "Gaugh! Don't do that! It hurts my brain", to which I responded something in the vein of ,"You obviously didn't see the 'Elfquest/Smurf' cross-over, published by the Elfquest team."

(The story was "Twisted in Two Worlds", also posted at Chaos and FA. One quality review at Chaos, nada at FA, the others at ff.net loved it. I'm going to take it off the site at FA, fix the page breaks and repost it again. Guess Elfquest is pretty much last century. I am working on two sequels of sorts, a Winnowill/Kreacher story, and have a rough sketch so far of Lupin at Abode. Flames away!!! Twisted Evil )

That was another thing I really enjoy at Mage, that the reviews actually enabled you to have a conversation with the author/reviewer.

For the reviews at FF.net... I keep the e-mails that they send me each time I get a review. I love that FF.net actually e-mails you the review and not only the notice that you got one, so I have all my pretty (and not so pretty) reviews in my inbox. Very Happy

Good idea. Very Happy

I've just started putting them on my LiveJournal - well, one actually, and I lost it. Now all I have to do is figure out tags and how they work.

Yay!

My story "How a Few Drinks can change your life" is up at Pureblood!

Woohoo!

And I volunteered for help. At least I have a bit of knowledge about eFiction because I'm an admin at WIKTT Archives (I helped with that move). So maybe they find something I can do. Razz

Edit:

They put my "Valentine for Three" at Lumos. Now that I'm not happy with. It should either be at Pureblood or Ashwinder... it's Lucius/Severus/Hermione. *pouts*

Hey Maddy,

The lists we have only specify one archive for a story, to ease the process of the move (otherwise it would be a lot more complicated than it is at the moment, and we are trying to move things over there as quickly as possible). If, once the move is finished, you want to add your story to the other archives (always a good idea to cross post for the audience), just leave a note on the story that it was previously posted elsewhere and it should be a straight validation through the queue.

Oh, that's great! I was wondering about cross-posting. I'll do that once all is back to normal.

Thanks for answering.

If you want (and don't tell Jackie cause she'll hit me for taking on extra work), leave me an email about your story, with the archives you want it on, and I can cross post it for you tomorrow when I'm working on the archives again.

Just this screen name at gmail.

You shouldn't find more work to do for yourself. I can post it later.

At least until today my other story "Women on Top" wasn't moved. I'm more interested on that one being at Pureblood and Ashwinder... as it's a WIP I'm working on, I really don't want people to lose the story and miss the updates if it's thrown into Lumos.

If it was started on one of the older archives first, then chances are, it will be continued where it originally started. Just makes better sense to do that.

It wasn't, maybe it's why I'm worrying too much with the move. I started writing just to try the new and shiny archive. I never thought of posting anything before that. Mage was the first home for my stories.

Heh, just sent Maddy Riddle a PM about her earlier post offering to move it. Lol. Never mind, seems that Celis has beat me to it. I'm crap at keeping up with these boards these days. Lol.

Anyway, offer still stands, Maddy. If it shouldn't be on Lumos, period, then we can move it for you now. If you are ok with it being on Lumost but also want it to go elsewhere, then once the move is over we'll be putting some sort of system in place to help facilitate cross-posting for newly moved stories, and you can add it to any other archives then. Wink

*scurries back to moving things*

P.S. Oh, and Celis, I won't hit you for taking on more work. But now I'm wondering if I'm not giving you enough work... Twisted Evil

J/K. *runs away again*

And after I convinced Metamuse to create the Lucius/Hermione subcategory at Pureblood in Mage, we'll be back at the old Pureblood where that category doesn't exist.

I talked to CareCrystal about this last night, and we both agreed with you that the category should exist, so it's available on Pureblood now. Wink Unfortunately, we can't go through and assign that category to existing stories ourselves, due to time constraints, but you're more than welcome to use it for both exisiting and new stories--just please wait to change the categories on any exisiting stories until after Pureblood is open for submissions! Smile

Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

Jackie

Thanks!

I'm happy that the category will exist. And don't worry. I'll wait all the time necessary.

As for assigning that category to existing stories, there's no need to do it now. Once the archives are opened there will be time for finer work in the archives...
I'll help then, if you want.
