Okay, I just got an email saying I had a pm. I get here and there's nothing. Anyone have a clue what's going on?

I think it was a system hick-up, as I got one too with no new PM either.

I just got the same thing, and I show no PMs either. Also, every time I try to come to the forum, through any route, it makes me log in again and again, even though I clicked on the "log me in automatically every time I visit" box. *shrug* Could our mysterious disappearing PMs be related to the ubiquitous spammers? Oh well...

Just chiming in to say "me, too" on receiving an e-mail today about having a PM and there not being one in my inbox. Silly me was thinking that maybe it's like my cellphone, and I need to be logged in for a little bit before the message shows up, but, nope, that's not the case. Embarassed Laughing

Hi, same situation here, including requiring me to log in to get the non-existant PM (but not otherwise).

Windows XP, IE 6, sp 2.

The link to click on is:

Hope this helps.

I got one too. It won't allow me to log in and look... even though I'm logged in on the board already.

Right there with you Evanesco. When I got the email, I was all "Ooooh! YaY! Excuse to stop coding for a while!" And now... Heck, I even checked my Outbox, Save Box and such. But, nope, nada, zip. Maybe it's just a test to see if we're all still alive? I know I haven't been in here for a while.

Selened--if it says you're logged in, but you can't access your features, try deleting your cookies and temp. internet files for the forums, usually that will help. If you have the problem often, your best bet is to not use the 'remember me' function. I had the same problem for the longest time, and as long as I don't let the site remember me or my password, it doesn't do it. It's a pain, but it's just a glitch with the phpbb style boards, so we can't do much to fix it.

As to the PM, I'm looking into this, but it looks like it was just a glitch since everyone seemed to get a notification and only a couple people reported actually getting PMs today. I'll check into it, though, and see if I can figure out what happened. Smile

I don't think there's really much of a rush for checking it out Jackie - at least not for me at any rate. It was actually a good thing, made me realize there was a forum out here that needed to be read. LoL.

I had a pm which turned out to be a porn link! Are the spammers getting into that too?

I think so. I just received the one about Jennifer Aniston. Was it rude of me to tell a spammer to piss off?

It was probably no more rude than the spammer sending you that message in the first place—and it was far more justified. Smile
