A love story set in isolated circumstances.
The 'Snape and Harry are locked away together and hate each other before falling in love/lust' is an old SS/HP cliche. Mostly these fics rely on Harry essentially being Stockholm Syndromed into 'loving' Snape, but So Lonely Without Me (almost) entirely skirts this. If anything, Snape is the one who mistakes a false intimacy for something more, but it takes a long time and changed circumstances before it really becomes a true affection and sense of regard.
Highly recommended. |
