Welcome to my personal search for a beta! Laughing

Hi Everyone:
I'm searching for a new Beta. I've partnered with my current Beta
for over a year and it has been a rewarding experience. Due to
personal circumstances she will no longer be able to beta.

I'm posting here in search of a new person who can Beta for me. I'm
searching for someone with beta experience, possibly PI Accredited
with experience in the HP fandom.

I usually have an over appreciation of the ever so wonderful comma
(gotta love that little guy)and an increasingly troublesome tense
problem. On occasion I have an HP canon question or a canon faux pas
within the story that is helpful when picked up by the Beta instead
of by the gate keepers at SH or OWL. I don't usually have a spelling
problem as Bill Gates takes care of that for me with Microsoft Word.

Writing Experience: I have a Master's Degree in Social Work, which
really did nothing for my writing hobby, although it thankfully got
me somewhere wonderful in my career. I started writing when I was
17, then I put down my creative quill until a little over a year ago
and it has been a wonderful experience.

Stories: I am currently writing SEX THERAPY IN THE DUNGEONS (writing
chapter 12) published on Ashwinder and OWL (SS/HG). I have other
stories that I have written in the fandom. The ones I am most proud
of are Sex Therapy in the Dungeons and of All That's Left of
Yesterday under BloodyBrilliantRuthie.

Ratings: Wanton and below. I'd love to be able to become comfortable
with writing a NC-17 rating since I definitely love to read them.
But when I put my quill to paper, it just doesn't fly. But, if my
beta were to be okay with that rating, then I could sow my oats.

Categories/Genres: I usually write Drama, Angst, and Humor.

I need someone who is very critical of plot, characterization and
dialogue and who will offer suggestions when they can. Canon
compliancy. Briticism would be nice, but not necessary as I'm not
flagrant with my Americanisms.

You think I'm being picky? Well, you're probably right. The most
important thing is that I want my beta to also be a friend because
deep down inside I'm just a big old teddy bear. Scratch the "old"
part - I've got issues with that!

I'm not labor intensive in terms of the number of chapters I put
out. I'd love to write about two chapters per month although lately
it's been less due to RL.

THANK YOU for reading this novel length post and for considering
partnering with me.

~Ruthie

Dear Searching,

I'll take you on.

I'll warn you, I'm as critical with someone else's work as I am with my own. I'll give you suggested rewrites, edit the chapter as well as betaing for grammar, canon and Brit Picking it.

I'm not PI accredited, but I know how to get something validated. My beta error rate is one in 5000 words. I beta for Orm Irian, Fervesco, SnapeySnax and (on occasion) SW_69. They can vouch for my turnaround (usually same day, allowing for timezone. I'm 5 hours ahead of you I think).

I bow to your brilliance oh Master, Wartcap!

Did I put the comma in the right place? Laughing

Thank you!
