For Tomorrow We May Die has been updated on Occlumency!

http://occlumency.sycophanthex.com/viewstory.php?sid=1732

Summary: The continuing story of Severus' emotional growth as he learns to love and to be loved

Chapter 34: A Phoenix Quill

In which we find out who the traitor is and why, and discover the contents of Severus' note to Autumn.

This story is the third installment in what is currently a four-pronged tale of the joys and sorrows of learning to love.

The stories involved are listed chronologically here:

"Still Waters Run Deep"-- Snape/OFC. (Rated NC-17, complete-- 131,970 words.)

One of Snape's former students returns to Hogwarts as a divination teacher. She's no longer the klutz who set her hair on fire or haphazardly added ingredients to cauldrons without measuring first, but she's no less eccentric or rash than she ever was.

Despite a tragic ending, this is, by and large, a happy story, full of light-hearted moments and a smattering of lemons.

This is a prequel to the main story which begins with Bittersweet, below, and Still Waters is not necessary for an understanding of the rest of the story.

~*~*~*~*~

"Bittersweet"-- Snape/OFC. (Rated NC-17, complete-- 175,310 words.)

After soaring on the wings of joy, Severus learns that he has much farther to fall into despair than he would have ever thought possible. There is no time for grief in the face of war, though.

This story follows closely on the heels of Still Waters Run Deep and peers deep into a soul that is raw and bleeding. Though I've labeled it Snape/OFC, that label does not fit it entirely. It is almost Snape-centric, and a developing friendship between Snape and Lupin gets a lot more screen time than anything between Snape and the OFC.

~*~*~*~*~

"For Tomorrow We May Die"-- Snape/OFC. (Rated NC-17, WiP-- 147,675 words so far.)

The continuation from Bittersweet. Reading Bittersweet is CRITICAL for the understanding of this story unless you are extremely tolerant of significant departures from canon.

Severus continues to struggle to reconcile his heart with his basic instinct to shy away from the world, a world that continues to fall apart. It is perhaps one of the greatest ironies of his life that he has learned to love just as the world threatens to shake apart at the seams. He has spent twenty years being loyal to Dumbledore, willing to die for a cause he believes in, but for the first time, he has also found something worth living for.

Moments of extreme fluffiness and cheesy hallmark-style moments contrast with harsh realities that knock the clouds from under Severus' feet.

and FINALLY!

~*~*~*~*~

"Neither Man Nor Beast"-- Lupin-centric, a firm nod to the Lupin/Snape friendship established in Bittersweet and Tomorrow. (Rated R for non sexual reasons, WiP-- 24555 words so far.)
url: http://wolfsbane.sycophanthex.com/viewstory.php?sid=1164

A spin-off from Tomorrow We May Die. Reading Bittersweet and Tomorrow is CRITICAL for the understanding of this story unless you are extremely tolerant of significant departures from canon.

In yet another act of infinite wisdom, the Ministry of Magic has passed the Magical Creature Protection Act, which is aimed at conserving and protecting dangerous and endangered creatures. Among the provisions are a number of laws affecting werewolves, and Remus is subjected to the horrors of 'the system'.

Approach with caution-- it's difficult to find a villian in this, though there's plenty to be angry about.

~*~*~*~*~

And where does it go from here? Who knows, but I hope you come along for the ride Cool

Looks like I didn't post last time I updated. Chapters 37 and 38 are both posted on Occlumency.

In these two chapters: after the magical glow of their shared weekend fades, Severus and Autumn are left to return to the harsher climes of a reality that hasn't changed at all.

Chapter 39: Return to Order has been added to Occlumency.

Another emotionally charged chapter, but one of the rare not-particularly-angsty ones.

Chapter 42: The Price of War has been added on Occlumency.

Teaser:

"Face it," Tonks said quietly, resting her head on her folded arms. "We just don’t know, and it doesn’t matter how we look at it—we still don’t have any more answers than we did at noon."
