Notes: I'm keeping an eye on the Keeper thread, but I decided to post here first to see if this might spark a true meeting of the minds. What I'm looking for is a beta who has the time and patience to deal with an obsessive weirdo like me, is experienced with grammar and punctuation (I'm a comma whore), and can do a bit of Britpicking. I have one archive-specific beta already and while I cherish her, she is extremely busy IRL and doesn't really have the time to devote to stories that are unsuitable for posting on said archive anyway. I would like to find someone who might be able to textchat with me (Skype or YIM) about her/his impressions, concerns, etc., although email-only is fine.
I write rather slowly, especially toward the end of the month when Snapecast takes up huge chunks of my free (and not so free) time. I don't usually write slash, so if you're mostly a slasher and not really a fan of het, you probably won't want to beta for me. I LOVE smut but I can't write it well, so that's also something to keep in mind. I'm quite picky about canon; crossovers and AUs bother me, as does OOCness. If your pet peeve is passive voice, you will want to run screaming into the hills away from me because I adore passive voice and refuse to part with it completely. I love to write Snape, but I write non-Snapefics as well. I've been in the fandom for a year now but I'm still a relative newb, so Old Timers who can help me seem less like an idiot in that area get bonus points.
As you can see from the first 3 chapters (if you visit the link above), I really need a beta for this story! But I'd like to find someone who has the time and desire to beta all of my fics in future. So even if you're still interested after all this drivel, beware; my plot bunnies tend to foam at the mouth. Thanks! |
