True. I love scented candles.

And you are right, Severus/Hermione is not unusual as it may sound at first sight.
I'm starting to think that people in the fandom is getting used to some odd pairings... one of this days I won't be considered weird when mentioning all the pairings I like...

The person below me has a favorite fic that they read several times.

True. I've still got a bit of a soft spot for Evadne's "Once Upon a Freakin' Time" over on fanfiction.net; it's a truly hilarious group of vignettes which focus on the Death Eaters. It's not terribly canon-compliant most of the time, but still worth a read. Mr. Green

I like scented candles. However, they don't really agree with my sense of smell (it's extremely sharp, so I usually start to cough when a scented candle's been lit), so I've got to stay away from them.

I've got two WIP's over on ff.net that haven't been updated in at least a year. They haven't been abandoned; it's just that HBP kind of de-railed my enthusiasm for one for a bit (though I'm re-working it now) and I've misplaced my canon source for the other, which is based on Terry Brooks' The Elfstones of Shannara.

As for the cat--well, I have that problem multiplied by three. My furry masters absolutely adore the most comfortable couch in the house, though even that is apparently second place to my lap (probably because they know they're likely to get a great chin rub there).

The person below me knows sign language.

Sort of true. At one time I used it on a regular basis, but I haven't used it in a very long time.

Scented candles are one of my indulgences. I can't go into Yankee Candle and NOT buy something.

My favorite stories are "A Merciless Affection" by Verity Brown, "No Good Deed" by Larilee, and "Yes, But" by Aesteli. They don't update often but the wait is always worth it.

The person below me actually wears an apron while baking.

False. I don't wear aprons at home because they give me horrible War veteran-like flashbacks from working at Fazoli's / the Deli / McDonald's. And, I don't have a place to hang them.

I like scented candles, but like most apartments, there's a rule against them.

Every time I get bored I reread "Vanity" by wartcap. Now that it's done, I tend to reread it in one long sitdown... and it still makes me cry every freakin time.

My fiance is trying to sweet talk our landlord into letting us get a cat, which I'm sure means I'll have more competition for my recliner Sad

hmmmm... The person below me is dressing up for Halloween! (If fiance's office party is dress-up, I will be going as Princess Zelda)

True, sort of; my pipe band's been planning a Hallowe'en costume thing for the 28th, and our pipe major has indicated that he'd like all of us to dress up as well; I think he's got the idea that nobody will know that we're even there until the drums and pipes come out. Mr. Green I'll be going as an elf (the Arwen kind, not the Dobby kind).

The person below me likes rainy days.

True. I like rainy days. Actually I don't like sunny days, anything else I like.

I won't be dressing up for Halloween as we don't celebrate it in this country... I would look too crazy if I was the only one dressing up that day without reason.

The person below me is a Doctor Who fan.

I've never seen it, but I've heard a lot about it.

I love scented candles, but don't often indulge in them.

I adore rainy days. I love reading, listening to the rain.

I won't be dressing up for Halloween, as I have nowhere to go.

The person below me likes the older Star Wars more than the newer.

*nods vigerously* Yup. I'm a classic SW freak. I'll admit it. I saw all of the Special Editions when they re-released them (GREEDO DID NOT SHOOT FIRST!!) and went to the midnight shows of all three of the prequels. I must say that Episode III was better than the first two. Episode II was the worst. I thankfully saw it in an IMAX theater and really wish they'd bring out that version. It had to be cut because of the length. IMAX platters can only hold 2 hour films. They cut out the majority of the stuff on Naboo. Turned it from a chick-flick into an actual sci-fi flick. I could go on and on and on talking about SW (in fact, I have two fanfics up that were originally on Chaos that are SW themed), but I will spare you from my ire.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while in here. I've been too busy trying to keep up with Mage. It's so... confusing.

So, speaking of Mage... the person below me would like to see a page with descriptions of all the new stuff in Mage to explain everything in detail.

False. I would love to see a lot of things in Mage, but I'm getting around and finding out what all is about... maybe I didn't find the odd stuff yet?
Anything I particular you find difficult? Maybe I can help...

The person below me didn't want to post because they didn't know what to say about the person below them.

False, though I must admit I've been wondering if people will run out of ideas for this anytime soon. Smile

Do I prefer the old Star Wars films to the new? Yes, yes, a thousand times yes! In my opinion the first trilogy should've been left alone after 1985 or whenever it was that Return of the Jedi was made, and the decision to tack these awful prequels on seems more of a financial decision than one made out of any desire to fill out the story.

The person below me has at least one odd decoration on the wall.

Well, I don't know if it's odd, but it's unusual. I have a poster that I stole off the London Underground. It's actually an ad for the Tube itself. It shows someone holding a brand new, dewy-looking baby and on the side it says, "We delivered the midwife." I stole it back in the days when becoming a midwife was just a dream for me and it was kind of a talisman.

Okay, I haven't been here in a bit. Let's see if I can remember everything:

Scented candles - I like them well enough, but I tend to get overwhelmed when I go near a Yankee Candle display. Too many good scents, too little time to pick.

Halloween - I don't think I'll be dressing up, but only because I'm still trying to help my daughter figure out what to be. If she can make up her mind soon, I might actually have a chance to think about something for me.

Star Wars - Love the original trilogy, wooden acting and all. Can't really take the newer crop; they just seem silly.

Rainy days - Very relaxing after protracted periods of sunniness but tedious if you get too may in a row. I like my weather changeable.

Oh, and Maddy Riddle, I was absolutely thinking about Ashwinder when I asked about missing old SH pages. I want my Random Fic back on Ashwinder where it belongs, not on the main page! (For that matter, I want Ashwinder, not the sterile blue zone that passes for it now.)

The person below me plans to travel to a foreign country sometime soon (you define how soon "soon" is!).

Sort of true. I'm hoping I'll be able to go to Sectus next July.

As for Ashwinder, yep, I miss it, but not as much as I thought I would. I like several pairings and the fact that looking at the home page I was able to find a Severus/Ginny fic (a really odd pairing I like) made me be more charitable towards Mage.
If you can't resist seing all the archives together, you can always check only Ashwinder http://archive.sycophanthex.com/stories.php?a=categories&id=1&o=3&h=2&m=10 and hopefully we'll get a good skin for Mage soon.

Nope - sounds fun, but I highly doubt I'll go.

I'm not too fond of Mage. I've only gone on it a few times since it opened. Do we still have a 'Completed Fics' page? That's all I usually went to anyway - I don't really like reading incomplete fics too often, sometimes I'll break out of my shell for it, but it's rare.

The person below me does their own graphics.

Yes, for the most part. I'm not good at making anything anyone likes these days. Everyone wants something so incredibly complex and crowded. I'm a subscriber to K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple, Stupid).

Pennfana - May 21, 1983 was the release date of RotJ. The prequels did nothing for my desire to become a "new" SW fan and the New Jedi Order books really made me unhappy. And not because they killed... a major character. The writing was flawed and the storyline sucked. Haven't read a SW book since Aaron Allston's NJO book.

Sometimes I don't post in here because I don't know what to ask.

The person below me is ready for Halloween because they start showing all the horror flicks on TV. *shudder*

Hurray! I'm back!!! I've been trying to log on for ages, and FINALLY! It was almost like being in the movie "Groundhog's Day".

Oh, yeah....

Nope. I'm getting ready by first buying my pumpkins and then by buying "The Simpson's Haunted Treehouse" DVD, which includes a take-off of Harry Potter (who makes a cameo appearance) and "Lord Moldymort". Also bought candy corn...yum!!!

The person below me has started buying Halloween candy, too!
