I think it was written in 2000. The writer speculated that it might be the first Granger/Snape fic ever written (or posted, anyway). Hermione receives a letter from Severus while she's in the Great Hall. He declares his love for her and it's very passionately written. Later, McGonagall and Madam Pomfrey (?) speculate about how things will turn out. McGonagall is a little cynical, thinks Snape is unhinged.
Any ideas? |

| Sorry, my mistake. But I'm confused. 'Het' refers to heterosexual? Granger/Snape is by it's nature het, isn't it? Isn't that redundant? It's not important, though. Just curious. |

Het refers to hetrosexual romance or porn. Gen is no ship or very little mention of shipping, canon extension stories take existing canon and rewrite it. They're rarer than hens teeth, but there are SS & HG stories out there that don't involve Death Eater orgies, gratuitious rape or Marriage Laws. |

journeymom: You should read textualsphinx's author notes to "Letter From Exile" where she freely acknowledges the debt to "Beyond the Silver Rainbow".
"Beyond the Silver Rainbow" is the very first SS/HG fic written, by Lupin Lover who has now withdrawn it as a bit of juvenilia.
Sphinx took the premise of BTSR and ran with it , and then some, and created LFEOMM - the opening seminal fic of this ship. You might also wish to read her (unfinished) prequel, "A Decoding of the Heart" on Schnoogle.
If you like Textualsphinx's work, I urge you to read (IMHO) her best story of all: "To Sever the Lining of a Cloud" a beautiful and whimsical yearning Snape/Lily. Have a handkerchief handy when you do. |
