I am seeking a beta with the following qualifications:
Knows grammar backwards and forwards; can pick up on misused homonyms and other words; knows how to break the rules and can spot when rule breaking works to an affect or when it falls flat.
Is familiar with both American and British conventions of spelling and grammar.
Can spot plot holes; inconsistencies; choppiness; and other plot problems.
Is not afraid to ask questions.
Is knowledgable about canon.
Enjoys SS/HG, but handles other pairings both within a story, and in other stories. (I am primarily an SS/HG shipper, but have a few other things in the works, too.)
Is not easily squicked; can handle stories that range from serious to extremely out there.
Has access to YIM or MSN (Preferably YIM); is available to discuss corrections & plot gaps; enjoys feeding plot bunnies; is not afraid to say something is awful/does not work/needs drastic revisions.
Need as soon as possible for a short, possibly twisted, gen-fic.
Needing soon for the following that are in the works: a rewrite of a chapter of Something for Herself; the next chapter of Observations of a Bookworm; a possible epilogue for A Strange Turn of Events; hopefully a response to the Makeover!SnapeSexGod Challenge.
Please I want a serious beta who is not afraid to challenge me as a writer. No fangirls need apply.
If interested, please send email to amethyst@sycophanthex.com . References are a plus, but not necessary. |
