I'm looking for a marriage law story I started reading at FF.net. Unfortunately, I only read about half of the first chapter, and now I don't remember the title or author.
The story start with a row between Severus Snape's father and his new wife (Severus stepmother) whom have been married for about 10 years. Together they have three daughters (who have never met Severus).
Mrs. Snape sr. and the daughters are packing, because she is hopping mad at her husband and is taking the girls to visit her parents - to cool down.
Despite being against the new law forcing muggle-borns to marry, Snape sr. was fearing that his 40 y/o son (Severus) would never marry. To force his son's hands, he visited the Ministry to look at the list of eligiable witches. Just as he was giving up finding someone suitable, a new name had appeared - Hermione Granger (early, due to time-turner usage) - and checking her file, reviled her to be perfect. Snape sr. imidiately sent a petition on Severus' behaf.
Unfortunately, his (Snape sr.) wife is not only muggle-born, but also member in a group trying to overturn the new law... along with several parents of muggle-borns - *including* Hermione's parents.
Not long after his wife and daughter leaves, an enraged Severus shows up. He is not at all pleased to have to marry his now-it-all *student*... although he *is* surprised finding out that he has three half-sisters (though he doesn't meet them then).
That should summerize half of the 1st chapter, which is all I've read. I'd imagine Hermione - and her friends and parents - are no more happy than Severus... and that the focus of the story isn't so much on Snape sr. and his new wife... but I've only read parts of the first chapter.
If anybody know what the title or author of this story is, I would appriciate it.
