Every time I try to log in to Ashwinder, I get the runaround--it takes me right back to the login page, and doesn't log me in. I cannot access my Account Information, nor any story with a W or L rating. This happened after 11:30pm Pacific Daylight Savings Time. This was not happening back at 7:30pm PDT. I also can "start out" technically logged in (I have the 'remember me' feature checked), but the moment I try to go anywhere, it spits in my face and kicks me in the shins.
Please fix, yes?? Thanks, ~Lotm |

Did you have the latest Service Packet 2 from Microsoft?
Did you up your internet security settings?
In the FAQ there is a question that answers how to fix this problem, and seeing as I'm at work I can't get it quickly enough to copy and paste for you. |

...Actually, it cleared itself up around 2:30am for no apparent reason. I could login and access W and L rated stories no problem. I didn't know if anyone else had this problem. I don't get why, but it's working fine, now.
I think it must've been Peeves, poking fun at us poor Muggles and our internet-thingy. (Though one would think the poltergeist would get sucked into the depravity of free porn sites and leave us alone!)
Thank you for keeping an eye on this!

...Nope, it's back. Time is 9:29pm PDT. I was accessing stories, then suddenly it logged me out and won't let me login. And then I accessed one L rated story while testing the thing, and the very next story I tried to access, hoping it had fixed itself, I got locked out again.
I tried the 'lower my browser setting' thingy, and it didn't work. I tried the 'enter the website address' thingy in my Tools/Privacy/Sites setting, as suggested. It didn't work, either
I've even massaged my firewall systems as far as I can. No dice. I don't get it.
...Is the system designed to prevent someone from using the same access code from two different IP addresses? If so, someone's hacked my account, and as soon as I can, I'll change my password...

Have you rebooted your computer?
eFiction doesn't keep track of IPs so it's not thinking there are two IPs. (Even the new program won't lock you out for that reason, I have multiple IPs I'm on and never have a problem with it.)
The only thing I can really suggest is waiting if rebooting doesn't work. I think it's a faulty part on eFiction because of the database size. Other sites who use eFiction and are bigger usually have on-site programmer whereas we don't so we get to suffer.
Then again, the net is just picky sometimes too.
Let me know if you still can't get in after rebooting. |

Okay, I rebooted and it seems to be working at Ashwinder now...but the forum here just made me login a second time! *rolls eyes* (Damned poltergeist! If I ever catch up to him, I'll give him a mega ecto-electro to his undershorts!)
Thanks, Metamuse,
