Hi all. I was recently introduced to fanfic (this site specifically and I'm happy to say that I have read several amazing stories on here) and prior to knowing there was a name or place for such writing, I had written a few HP things just for amusement. Anyway, I recently started another that I honestly had no real intention of posting but now I'm thinking maybe it'd be cool to see if others like the writing at all.
So, the story is a standard HG/DM story (I think maybe there are so many because it is a pretty easy pairing to write about). I'm sure it will eventually be rated L. I don't know how long it will be - the way I write is just to let the story develope so it may be long, can't say for sure. And lastly I have 5 chapters currently written. Oh, and it's post DH, pre epilogue, is DH compliant except Snape is explained into living - I love Snape  This is not PWP but there is also no huge objective - so basically the story of these two getting together, issues involved, etc. My favorite part of stories is seeing the characters inner "termoil" or developement, ehatever you choose to call it so that is what I focus on myself in my writing.
I use Word so spelling and grammer is not a big issue and I'm not truely concerned about it - MS Word will catch it and I have trusted it for years with important papers so why stop now.
Mostly I'd like a beta to make sure I stay true to the characters - canon - I recently started a rewrite of ch. 5 cuz Draco was getting a little un-Dracoish. That's my biggest concern. Also, making sure the flow of the story is good, etc. It's easy for me to read cuz it's my story but will it make sense to someone else reading it, kinda thing.

PSS - if anyone thinks they may be interested, but like me, can't read something that doesn't catch your interest shortly after starting, I have no prob sending a first chapter to check out and if, from there, a responder isn't interested, I won't be in the least offened if they don't want to read it.

thanks for the offer. I jsut found a beta a couple weeks ago and had my first chapter returned to me today.
Good Luck on your fic - and for that matter, finding a beta. |
