Yes, it is a song fic, but don't make it that way.
Something happens that would make Hermione bitter (you explain). Snape offers his services (you explain).
Use as many elements from the song without being too ham and cheese.
The last verse may not be the correct lyrics, so aurthor's choice as a bonus (make something up).

Oh and "Happy Endings" are for wimps!
But if you really want a happy ending, as putrid as I find them, you may do so. But if it is all cotton candy, funnel cakes, and bubble gum sweetness, I will fork you!!!!  |
