Welcome to the forum! Please excuse the mess of spammers we have here...

I'm not sure of your question. Sci-fiction is made up of thousands of universes, each created by some particular author. The universe of Star Wars is seperate from Star Trek, for example, and the "science" of each has it's own laws, and it's own web-site, and fandoms, with some cross-overs. (Fanfiction.net has many of these sci-fic-fan-fics.) Google your favorite sci-fic author, look for his or her "official" page and go from there.

Space.com is a good site for ideas of how space would look like, how a body reacts in space, and so forth. It's a good foundation for space travel stories. The psychologies of the future races is something everyone has his or her own theories.

Hope this helps. Good luck, and I look forward to reading yours!

After rereading my reply, I can see that I didn't answer your question.

Try looking up the Hugo Award winners. Link is listed below. I have my favorites (Orson Scott Card, Anne and Todd McCaffery, James Blish, Issac Asminov, and others, including Jonathan Swift, who wrote Gulliver's Travels. The sci-fic I refer to is in one of the book's later chapter, where the "floating island" in the sky is made possible by magnets.)

Er...after seeing a link in the text of the original post, I strongly suspect that this is actually spam.

Hmm. I didn't try my cursor on any of the text, but now I did, and I can see your point. I didn't click on it, thank goodness.

Can you imagine their confusion that a nerd took the post seriously?

The odd thing about that post was, I checked the author's profile and from that, got a web page that was a research lab in England. Sooo, what with the hidden web site that was in the address, I'd Arrow vote that it was a very clever spammer. Also, the fact that there wasn't a "thank you" note or any follow-up post seemed rather awkward.
